Hi Parents,

On the 1st of october, which is children's day, the children are going for a trip to the West Coast Park for picnic and some great fun! Please do allow your children to bring along a few pieces of their sandplay toys and some snacks to share with their friends. I will try my very best to take great pictures of the event for you.

See ya,
Teacher Fiona

It was an interesting session with friends and Teacher Fiona today. We were discussing about cars and our imagination...hmm..here was what happened.
Teacher Fiona read us a storybook entitled "If I can Build a Car".....it was really an interesting book about a boy call Jack and his plans of building his sophisticated car. After reading the story, Teacher Fiona splitted us into pairs and asked us to discuss among ourselves about our dream cars. Then as we discuss, we have to plan and design our cars on paper before presenting them to the rest of our peers in the class. After that, she would decide which group gets the title for 'CAR OF THE CENTURY'....below are some photos that shows you the process as well as the winners of the title.
the book that opens up our discussion...
Pair A, starting to discuss their first step....

Pair B, making themselves confortable to find more inspirations..

Pair C, excitedly starting their first draft of their car..

Pair D, Brainstorming on ideas...

Clea and Hing Yeung, presenting their special car to their classmates and answering the questions of their peers...

Now, it's David's and Chamaine's turn to present their idealistic cars and to answer questions posed by their classmates...

Alexander and Graphael, giving a clear explanation and presentation of their very special car..and yes! They have obtained the title 'Car Of The Century'!

Faith and Zann, loss for words by the very difficult questions posed by their classmates..

Here are our cars!!!!

Hi Daddies and Mummies, indeed we have a great time at city harvest church! We enjoyed the powerful singing and action packed songs! And of course, Uncle Keith Coast was such a great children entertainer...he somehow had mastered the skills of getting himself into a big big ballon to blow up other small balloons inside....and believe it or not...he did the chicken dance in the big balloon, walking around the stage...we were all so amazed! It was great fun! They have invited us for their subsequent events....we want to join them in the subsequent fun too! Teacher Fiona says that if you agree to take us there again, she could give you more information on their events every week..could you please ask her?

Anyway, here are some of the photos taken on the the outing to City harvest church....enjoy..

waiting for the programs to start....

let's kill time with photo taking!

Teacher Fiona turned our classroom into a library today! She places all the storybooks on the tables and gave us 3 rules to keep to:

  1. Put the books back to the same place where we took it.

  2. Take care of the books that we are reading and to turn the pages with care.

  3. Read silently or in soft whisper so as not to disturb others who are reading too.

It was a great experience! We spent about 15 to 20 minutes, reading different story books, trying to figure out words using the phonic technics that we have learnt and appreciating the stories. Teacher Fiona told us that we are going to do that at least 3 times per week, each session lasting for about 15 minutes. She said that this would improve our attention span, words recognition, creative writing as well as putting our phonics knowledge to use. Here are some great pictures to show you how well behave and engross we were during the silent reading time.
